AIRPORT OPTIONS & SHUTTLE INFORMATION For guests arriving via air: San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is located 15 minutes from downtown San Francisco. Ground transportation options from SFO are:
BART Rapid Rail: operates rapid rail service to northern San Mateo County, San Francisco and the East Bay directly from SFO. The SFO BART Station is located on the Departures/Ticketing Level of the International Terminal (Boarding Area G side). BART is easily accessed from any terminal by riding SFO's AirTrain to the Garage G/BART Station stop. There is no charge to board AirTrain. Once there, board the Dublin/Pleasanton train for $5.15 for a 35 minute ride to go to downtown San Francisco, disembarking at the Montgomery St. exit. Catch the #38 bus up Geary for $1.50 to the hotel, or hail a taxi. Go to bart.gov or call 415-989-2278 for more information.
Taxi Services: There are designated taxi zones located at the roadway center islands, on the Arrivals/Baggage Claim Level of all terminals. There are uniformed taxi coordinators to assist you.
Oakland International Airport (OAK) is located 30 to 40 minutes from downtown San Francisco.
AirBART operates a shuttle bus from the Oakland Airport to the Coliseum/Oakland Airport Station approximately every ten minutes for $3.00. Shuttles stops are located out at the “third curbside”, but the airport is under construction so you may need to ask for assistance. Once at the Coliseum/Oakland Airport Station, purchase a BART ticket for $3.35 and catch either the SFO/Millbrae train or the Dally City train to go to downtown San Francisco, disembarking at the Montgomery St exit. Catch the #38 bus up Geary for $1.50 to the hotel, or hail a cab.
Door to Door Shuttles: there are numerous area shuttle bus services listed at oaklandairport.com/shuttles.shtml. Super Shuttle is among them at www.supershuttle.com, (800) 258-3826.
Taxi Services: Try Friendly Cab, 510-536-3000 or Veteran’s Cab, 510-533-1900.
For guests traveling by train:
Amtrak – amtrak.com, 1800-USA-RAIL. There are no train stations in San Francisco, but Oakland and Emeryville are Amtrak destinations. We suggest Oakland as your destination so it is easier to get into San Francisco via BART.
Train Routes:
The California Zephyr or The Capitols – run through Auburn, Sacramento and on to Emeryville and Oakland.
The Coast Starlight – Southbound originates in Seattle but has stops in Northern California cities beginning with Dunsmuir, Redding, and Chico then on through Sacramento Emeryville and Oakland. Northbound originates in LA traveling through Paso Robles and Salinas ending in Oakland.
Pacific Surfliner – originates in San Diego, goes through LA to San Luis Obispo – from there the trip is by bus. Or hop off in LA and switch to the Coast Starlight to train it all the way.
The San Joaquin – originates in Bakersfield and goes through to Oakland.
The rest of the way: Arriving in Oakland at the Coliseum/Oakland Airport Station, you can hop on BART following instructions listed for Oakland International Airport, above.
We encourage carpooling! Reach out to others in your community within driving distance and share the ride!!!
