Researchers with the United States Forest Service found that simply having trees on your street can increase property values by an average of $8,870. And what about your own yard? “Landscaping, especially with trees, can increase property values as much as 20 percent,” according to research by Management Information Services/ICMA (Itn'l City/County Management Association). But it’s not just your own yard that makes your home more desirable—nearly one out of five buyers considered paying more for a home near a park or playground, according to a survey by the National Association of Realtors. According to Professor Kathleen Wolf from the University of Washington, “Trees make shopping a better experience.
